Can I bid after auction has ended?

I forgot to bid in time on a pair of trousers for DS and missed the end of the auction by minutes. They didn't sell, can I contact the seller and make an offer or is that against the rules?

It isn't the norm. but I've done it before and if the seller wants to sell the trousers they'll be glad you contacted them. I don't think it's breaking any rules, but even if it is who's going to tell? I promise I won't.

You can do this -- someone did it to me a couple of weeks ago, and I was perfectly happy to let them have the item for the starting bid amount.
