Problems with eBay Postage

I bought an item via eBay and the person was supposed to send it via Evri to my local shop. When I checked a week later it looked like the person had not sent it, so I messaged them.

It turns out they had sent it but posted it via Royal Mail. They didn’t tell me this. The address they sent it to was my local shop. My local shop rejected the parcel because they are not insured to accept Royal Mail delivery (they just do Evri).

Hopefully eBay will sort this out. However, I was wondering if anyone else had this issue.

i can take an evri parcel to my local post office and send it from there - still an evri service though. Is that maybe what’s happened or did they specifically print of a Royal Mail label. I’m not sure how that would be possible if you selected everi delivery unless the seller paid out of their own pocket for Royal Mail.

The person eventually sent me the tracking information and they had definitely posted it via Royal Mail and not Evri.

Did you ask them why they did that? Have you raised it with eBay?

I have raised it with eBay and they have now given me my money back.

The individual said they only wanted to send things via Royal Mail, but had not specified this in the listing.

I only send things Royal Mail but all my listings have screwed up and reset themselves to Evri, DPD, Yodel, etc. without me realising.

Perhaps this happened?

Ebay Simple Delivery is utter shit show I’m afraid.

If you go to My Ebay, Settings, Postal preferences you can remove Evri as an option. Simple delivery will then only use Royal Mail, or if the parcel is large, DHL.
