Got a double buugy this morning, in good condition, am happy with it, did say in ad that there were a few marks which I am OK with, probably get them out.
There a slight tear which I am also OK with.

but the raincover is stained.

I hadn't realised as i just took the buggy out, checked it over and left + feedback.

Ive tried to wash it but its stuck fast.

Am not happy using it at all.

Should I try and get soem money back to but a new raincover?

ONe of my buggies (I've had 4, for 4 kids!) did have marks like that on the raincover. I think it was the pegasus. The plastic was thicker than the other buggies I've had.

yurt1 · 01/05/2008 12:42

4 for 3 kids I mean!!

yurt1 · 01/05/2008 12:43

they weren't sticky though.

Disenchanted · 01/05/2008 12:44

Ive had a powertwin before, 2 infact and anothe rjane single buggy and non of the raincovers looked like that.

I wouldn't go outside with it, or more to the point i would NOT have bought that particular buggy and raincover if they had put pictures of the stains on the listing!!

Sorry, wasn't shouting lol

Its just not attractive having that all over the buggy, and not knowing what it is is worse!

Dissy, you don't need to freeze anything, it's covered by buyer protection so paypal guarantee your refund whether seller has funds in or not iyswim.

It'll put their backs up if you go for the big guns without asking first.

No need t worry!

scottishmummy · 01/05/2008 12:54

i can see why you are unhappy - i would be too.unsightly marks why dont you google cost of replacement hood and ask them to contribute

Disenchanted · 01/05/2008 13:09

I just found a replacement raincover ... they are £50!!!

Even if they refund me the whole £30 deposit Im going to have to spend another £20 myself

bloody eck

maybe write a grovelling letter to manufacturer eg

Dear Jane

i am the happy owner of a power twin, unfortunately there are stains on the raincover. could you replace..

worth a try

fwiw i think they are scorch marks, maybe the tried to dry it over radiator or heat

HairyToe · 01/05/2008 15:40

Sorry to be dim but 200 buggies? 200 buggies? Is that really meant to say 200 buggies? I'm very confused...

tootiredtothink · 01/05/2008 15:56

Why are you only trying to get £30 back? Either get them to replace with a better looking raincover or ask for £50 for new one?

NurkMagiggy · 01/05/2008 16:00

OP has stated that she might only be able to claim £30 back as she only paid that amount with paypal.

I know a very respectable old lady who has hundreds of coachbuilt prams. She is no chav

They are nice objects.

Am off to find you a powertwin cover under £30.
I may be gone for some time...

tootiredtothink · 01/05/2008 16:05

Ahhh, thanks NurkMagiggy

posieflump · 01/05/2008 16:06

where does it say 200 buggies?!!

Disenchanted · 01/05/2008 16:11

Thanks,

Ive got a refund now

Well an agreement to one which Im sure he will honour, seem like lovely people, i think they genuinly didn't realise!!

Ive got a while till i need the double so will keep the money in paypal until i see one pop up

Thanks for the advice!

Disenchanted · 01/05/2008 16:12

Maybe I was over exagerating with 200

OP posts:
tootiredtothink · 01/05/2008 16:14

Ah ha!! Now i have read it properly! Claim on DH's paypal - at least that way you could get the £50 back if necessary. Those stains are terrible and you should have no probs at all getting something back surely?

I have just had a horrible experience on ebay with a non arrival of a parcel - totally got run around from seller until i opened a dispute! But i think it is worth e-mailing them first to give them a chance to sort it out.
