I usually wait 7 days. Is cheque one of your accepted methods - they might have sent it and had it stuck in the backlog due to the postal strike.

yes it is and i have considered that

do you think i should send a message just asking if they still want the item or would that be a bit pushy?

You could send another invoice. Have they completed checkout (would show in your 'sold' section as a little shopping basket lit up. You should also get an Ebay email though when they do this. If they have completed checkout and intend to pay by cheque, it would tell you there. However, I sometimes get random cheques without anyone completing checkout, and I have to play guess to Ebayer. Luckily it's usually easy enough!

I normally send a payment reminder after 5 days. (It is an option on the ebay standard e-mails). Then if they still haven't paid after eight days I send another e-mail asking for payment or I will start the 'non-pyaing bidder process'. If I haven't heard by 10 days then I report them to ebay.

P.s on the rare occasions someone has paid by cheque they have always e-mailed me to tell me.

no it hasn't shown up as checkout completed

i'll leave it until wednesday then contact the buyer and see if they still want it if i haven't heard anything
