Is it ever worth re-listing an item that has not sold?

Not only have they not sold, but they received no watchers either.

The items in question are children's winter coats and a couple of other items of children's winter clothing.

Have you ever sold something once you re-listed it?

I once sold something within ten minutes of re-listing it.

Strange, I know

elescarybells · 11/10/2007 10:14

i would relist them - its free for one relist anyway so you're not losing out. i have sold a few bits when relisted, so its worth it imo.

DumbledoresGirl · 11/10/2007 10:17

Is it free? I thought it was only free if the item then sold. ie you get back your re-listing fees....?????

I tend to relist one more time then if not sold goes to charity shop

It is free if the item sells.

It is worth re-listing. Maybe see what you can do differently? Change the keywords in the title for example, or change the end time/day.

I have often had an item go unsold and then I relist and people bid like crazy...

I got my favourite pair of paintings (honestly, I would forget the family photos and grab these in a fire) when they were re-listed.

What IS weird is when people re-list it for more than the original auction. Out of idle curiosity I've been watching something that has now been re-listed three times, and each time the seller adds GBP35 to the start price. Not sure what he or she is thinking....

nikkid21 · 11/10/2007 16:36

The 35p is what it's costing him to list if it's under £14.95 and without gallery. He's trying to keep relisting fees from eating into his profit margin.

Bit of a numpty selling strategy imho

bubblagirl · 11/10/2007 16:53

i always relist but make it a best offer so people can ofer you a price as maybe the price is too high so say at 10 pound have or best offer

always sells if i dp this as if your going to charity shop them then any offer is better than giving away for nothing also if has pictures sells better

ninedragons · 12/10/2007 01:06

It's 35 quid he adds each time! Sorry, I don't have a pounds symbol on my keyboard.
