Seller just refunded paypal transaction, no email

As above. The seller has just refunded paypal amount. Out of the blue without any communication.

It is now coming back up as 'unpaid' in my purchase history.

Is this commonplace and what do I do to get it deleted from 'unpaid'?

No, it was to be posted. There was a p+p cost.

It says free p+p now on the purchase history 'unpaid item'. However, I was refunded cost of the item along with the postage cost I paid.

It is just out of the blue.

I read on another thread that ebay penalises sellers who cancel transactions like this.

How do I notify ebay that the seller has just cancelled transaction and refunded paypal account without any communication?

You could try live chat. I've always found them really helpful.
