I purchased a phone case off eBay from China, its finally come last week, but it has a bug embedded inside the plastic! Very strange.
I emailed the company, they have 19,000 feedback so they're pretty big company, I got a very strange reply...
Firstly they blamed the postman...
I sent them photos, as I thought maybe communication was a problem though their English seems pretty good.
Then I got a begging reply from a guy saying that if he has to send me out a replacement phone case it will come out his personal wages!
He literally begged me not to ask for a replacement.

I feel kinda bad, but I don't really want a bug in my phone case.

What would you do?

It won't "come out of their wages", the Chinese sellers like to pull out all the stops with the sob stories! These sellers are mainly just drop shippers. That is you pay for an item and they pay another seller a reduced rate to send you the product directly, then they profit from the difference.

A good seller should pull out all the stops to make sure a custome this happy with their purchase. If be leaving appropriate feedback anyway, even if it is only £1.59!

Um, no, it wasn't the wrong thread. If you read the rest of my post I was making a point about crap quality items from Chinese importers on ebay etc.

Just because a phone case isn't a safety item it doesn't mean it's not unsafe to use. Cases made and sold in proper shops in the EU have to pass certain standards, e.g. that they aren't flammable, they don't contain poisonous materials which you might absorb through your skin or place in your mouth, that they don't have small fibres or pieces which can fall off and be breathed in or anything like that. Cheap, Chinese products don't have any of these safety checks.

lottie is probably right though that it won't be the person in the factory directly selling the product and it likely won't come out of anybody's wages.

Just leave neg feedback. Reference that they are exploiting their staff as per your communication.

Not a "listening" bug? That's what I thought this thread was about.

greenfolder the OP should just make sure the FB is carefully worded. Anything that is potentially slanderous can be removed.

£1.59 including postage from China? 👀

Yes. Most stuff is ridiculously cheap from China (inc postage costs), hence why a lot of the time it is shit or doesn't arrive.
