eBay

Clothing not size stated on label

Bought an item of child's clothing and when it arrived it was tiny. I have contacted the seller because this was obviously not mentioned in the listing. It was labelled 12-13 but looks more like age 5-6. I should have known something was wrong from their fuzzy photo!

They offered a partial refund if kept or only the cost of the item refunded if returned at my expense and without a refund of my original postage.

I have emailed photos with a top from the same shop and same size to illustrate how wildly wrong the sizing of this item is but the seller refuses to change her position.

I have now opened a case with eBay. What is the outcome likely to be? I tried to ring eBay but the English of the person I spoke to was really poor and they didn't understand what I was trying to say.

Forgot to say I measured the item and included this detail in my messages to the seller.

It's very likely you'll get a full refund of your item cost + original shipping if you return the item to the seller. If you ask ebay they might pay the return shipping, otherwise you'll have to pay. Make sure you return by a tracked service, otherwise the seller can simply deny they received the return and you won't get any money back and you'll be out of pocket for the return.

You may be automatically be given a link to print a pre paid and tracked returns label. If not call eBay and ask for one.
