Silly question about the 20 free listings

I've just starting on eBay in the last month or two and am successfully selling loads of stuff. However, I don't want to get charged for listings.

What I'm not sure about is the timeframe for the 20 free listings - is it based on the number of listings you start in a particular month, or the number of listings that complete in a month? You could list an item in March, but it would finish in April IYSWIM, so which month would that listing fall into?

Based on when you list, so 20 listed on 31 March count as part of your March quota, regardless of when they finish.

BTW, if you scroll down to the bottom of your selling page it will tell you how many you have left and when they expire.
