Does anyone have more than one ebay account?

I usually sell clothes and feel I know what I'm doing with that and have 2000+ pos fb.

I have a load of stuff in the loft that I would like to try and get rid of - mostly kids bits, some toys, some homey things etc but I had a bad experience last xmas when a horrible buyer (and serial scammer)nearly ruined my fb over an xbox game of my son's - he ended up with a free game with no postage by basically threatening neg fb when there was nothing wrong with the item - I still ended up with a 3 * DSR from that awful person.

I was wondering if it would be better to open a new account to sell these bits and pieces and keep my usual account for clothing. Does anyone else have more than one ebay account and is it straight forward?
Thanks

yep - I have 3. One to buy, one to sell and 1 spare. Always good to have separate buy and sell accounts - stop auction wrecking. Plus the more accounts you have the more free listings you qualify for.

Thanks for that. I didn't think about the free listings. That might be useful. DH does have an account so I could maybe use that for the bits and bobs but might just get a 2nd one.

chrissy what is auction wrecking? is it when disgruntled buyer blocks you or something.

Chrissy41 · 25/10/2014 13:36

if you upset a seller then they can bid on your items for sale to cause hassle - leae negs, etc... so you should always use separate accounts for buying and selling.

Did have business account, one for me for selling household stuff and some buying, DJ's account mostly buying occ sale
If anyone gives you hassle block them immediately whether they are buyer or seller on all your accounts in case they address hunt

Two accounts - one for buying and one for selling.

alemci · 25/10/2014 15:00

i see but can you link them both to same pay pal account.

has that happened to you Chrissie, do ebay take a dim view of people false bidding. i am surprised anyone has got the time or energy tbh.

Chrissy41 · 25/10/2014 15:13

yes you can link them to the same paypal account.

I understand what you are saying, but it's taken me forever to build up to 60 stars! So many people haven't left feedback it's really annoying.

I don't buy much, but at least those stars have helped boost the number!

Chrissy41 · 26/10/2014 15:35

feedback is voluntary and you should never expect or demand it - it's not an integral part of the transaction.

feedback is voluntary and you should never expect or demand it - it's not an integral part of the transaction.

I am aware of that. Doesn't stop me being miffed that I don't get feedback when I package well, send promptly and make sure my descriptions are accurate. Especially when it's a really nice, nearly new item that they've paid next-to-nothing for.

And I also don't do what some Ebayers do, which is either put a note in, or send an email, requesting feedback.

Chrissy41 · 26/10/2014 16:34

On eBay the transaction is the buyer pays and you send the item - you have no right to be miffed about no feedback! I would say about half of folk leave none - and that is absolutely fine. You have no right to feedback from anyone.

And just because you don't request it doesn't make any difference. If someone demands or requests it then they will likely get the feedback they never wanted.

Nanny0gg · 26/10/2014 16:37

you have no right to be miffed about no feedback!

Personally I think you have the right to be miffed about anything you like. What you don't have is the right to do anything about it.

However, we can agree to disagree on that one.

alemci · 26/10/2014 20:00

I agree about the feedback. People don't bother and I think it has got worse lately . I always try to make an effort to leave it.
