Blocking buyers and contact worry!

Does anyone have any experience of this sort of thing. Back in September I sold some items, while they were active a buyer with 0 feedback contacted me to ask how they could pay and I responded about PayPal etc. Thought it a bit weird but hey, newbie, could happen. Then after the auction finished and someone else won, they messaged again to say how sad they were to miss out on the item and they really loved it, blah blah blah, but stopped short of actually asking to buy privately. Showed it to DH and he thought they were possibly a scammer trying to get the stuff in some way, but anyway I reported the message to eBay and left it. I thought I had blocked the buyer.

Today, on another item, they've bid. Still got 0 feedback. Checked my list and I had got the user name wrong so now blocked them properly, cancelled the bids with my reasons from before and made sure I checked the box that stops blocked bidders contacting me. Clicked the apply to current and future auctions box too. I just have a feeling this may not stop them, which I know is a bit silly, but the messages before were just strange.

So my question, for anyone with blocked bidders, have you ever been contacted by them? Could they get in touch if they have before and have my user name? If they do they I will report it but does that actually do anything? I just want to clear out some old stuff, but this has left me feeling quite on edge.

Any thoughts appreciated, even if just to get a grip!

yes blocked bidders can still message you but can't bid.

You did add them to your BB list?

A blocked bidder will see a message that reads something along the lines of "you cannot bid on this item". There is nothing to stop them messaging you to ask why or otherwise.

I find it very annoying that you cannot block members from contact you, even by placing a request directly with ebay. I had someone messaging me calling me a Cu*t, and worse, yet ebay refused to block his messages.
