Suspect seller is a scammer - what do I do?

We have recently won an auction on ebay of a reasonably costly item - £100+. However some things have given us pause re: the seller, in particular the shenanigans surrounding all the different PayPal accounts they seem to have.

Plus the usual no photos, generic listing, details cribbed off the internet stuff. Oh, and an apparently unique name that is identical to a convicted fraudster. Not saying it's the same person, but all the details seem dodgy.

After yesterday's payment problems I really, really don't want to send this person my money. What do I do now?

ask them to send you a cancellation request.

And tell eBay if they are asking you to pay via an unsafe payment method. And don't buy unless you see pics of the actual item, anyone can copy a generic pic from the internet.

Thanks, we will do. Don't need to do anything else? I thought I would have to send a notification to Ebay, but I guess not.

I know about all of the photos etc, unfortunately it's not just my account. Oh well. Good learning opportunity. Although I'd rather it didn't happen.
