Best offer accepted - do I have to buy it?

I made a best offer on an item, along with a request for how much it would cost to courier to me.

The offer has been accepted, but the courier price is too much and I don't want the item any longer. The price was relayed to me at the same time as they accepted the offer.

But it's marked as sold and the pay now button is active. I didn't think I was bound to buy it with an offer - am I wrong?

Can I cancel? I'm really stuck otherwise, because I really do not want it. The only thing is it does say this offer expires on the 4/4/12 so hopefully that means it's not binding?

Thanks.

yes you are bound by a best offer - you can ask them to send a cancellation request. If the pay now button is active you have bought it. Next time ask for courier quote before submitting a best offer price or placing a bid.
