"each additional" check box next to P&P what exactly is this please?

There seems to be a new box when listing items next to P&P. It says "each additional". Is this for sellers with multiple listings of the same item or is it a new way of offering combined postage for various items? If you leave it as £0.00 does that mean anything (as in you still have to charge original P&P if the buyers buy extra items- this doesn't seem to make sense but if you know I would be grateful).

This is new isn't it or have I just never noticed it before?

Sorry, I've no idea! Must be a feature for combined postage...?

isn't it when you can add you will charge an extra amount of x P&P only per additional item when they buy more than one item.

It seems to always show the same amount as you put for the original postage so you have to manually adjust it. I have been deleting the amount but I must say I am finding it annoying. I don't sell multiples of the same things. I sell clothes mainly so all combined postage would depend on what was bought. It is really bugging me today as I list and I have never seen it before. Maybe I will try & contact ebay to ask about it.
