I've sold a few pairs of boots and I'd like to send in original boxes, but not sure if there were other postal services, couriers that would be cheaper than Royal Mail?
Someone sent me something by Hermes last week and refunded me some postage as it worked out half the cost. Can I use them too?

Hi yes you can and you can print and pay for it all online which saves hassle and time

dozily · 15/12/2013 08:02

Try Collect+ - it's cheaper than Royal Mail, you get a small discount if you print the postage through ebay, and you can drop it off at various local shops (check on their website for ones near you) so no need to wait in for a courier all day.

MyHermes tends to be cheapest for that size item, you have to get quotes and check parcel sizes and weights to be sure. Make sure you are as insured as you'd like to be too.

I have had a very positive experience of MyHermes, no horrid queues at the Post Office and much cheaper for larger items. They also allow you to track your parcel online so you know when an item has been delivered.

Thanks girls. Is it just a case of creating a personal account with myhermes?
Do any of them offer a later 'last posting date' than PO?
I have a couple of necklaces I meant to list and forgot. Am I wasting time listing before Xmas.

Collect + is good. You just buy the label online, print it off, stick it onto parcel and drop off at a local collection point. Ours is the petrol station. V cheap and I've had no problems with the service.

SandyDilbert · 15/12/2013 11:26

MyHermes can collect from you at home - just buy and print online before 9pm and they can collect the next day.

glammanana · 16/12/2013 18:04

I have nothing but praise for myhermes their cost at moment for parcel up to 2kg is £3.90 so your shoes /boots would probably come into this band it is so good to be able to just drop off at your local collection shop,if you go on line it will show you in your area where your nearest shop is or as someone else said they pick up.

OLittleTownOfBarflehem · 16/12/2013 18:06

Another vote for myhermes, I can't praise them enough!

Both times I have used collect plus have been a disaster: 1st time they lost the parcel, 2nd time the contents were smashed to pieces on arrival. I'm never using them again .
