How has someone in Italy bought my item?

I always set my shipping to domestic. I have just sold an item and didn't even look at the buyer until I just received a message from them. The buyer asked for me to send them a total so they could make payment. I then looked and noticed the address was in Italy. How has this happened? Do I just send the item to Italy or cancel?

I do post overseas, but never, ever, ever to Italy. It is absolutely notorious for parcels going missing. If you look around eBay there are quite a few sellers who will post anywhere except Italy, Indonesia, and Africa.

Indeed I know someone who lives in northern Italy and has a PO box over the border in Switzerland, just so he can reliably get his post.

Contact the buyer and say sorry, UK only, and ask them to cancel the transaction (I am not sure if you need their permission to cancel or not). You need to check your blocked list - it should be automatic for buyers in countries you don't post to, but sounds like you need to double-check they're ok.

Thank you missedme I have just had a look at my blocked buyers as I had previously set them so that I only post to domestic, but it seems that none of them was blocked.

Then I would suggest you offer to either cancel the transaction, or send it only FedEx (at buyer's expense). You need it to be tracked from your hands to theirs. I wouldn't trust the national post service. Otherwise you're going to lose your item and your money.

just added international signed for postage charge wait for payment and send if sent signed for you are covered wherever it is goingand send invoice accordingly

you must select in your blocked bidder criteria " block bidders in countries I do not post too"
