This rant in listing is slightly putting me off

Certainly also because my sales have been private (despite not selling anything embarrassing - just thought that when there's a choice, customers could prefer to be private about their purchases). Why would that be dodgy? I've got 100% feedback..

Anyway, thinking of bidding, but the rant is really putting me off. What do you think of it?

I'd avoid like the plague. What sort of feedback has the seller been giving people and getting from customers?

ToysRLuv · 15/08/2013 15:24

Feedback all seems good. It's really weird.. I mean, the seller might have a point, but why go on a rant? Twice nonetheless?

I think he sounds genuine. But I get what you mean about protesting too much.

ouryve · 15/08/2013 15:35

The rant seems to be in all their sales. Way OTT!

ToysRLuv · 15/08/2013 15:41

The seller comes across a bit self-important and boasty, as well, with all the "I work in the fashion world and travel all around the world" stuff. It's not something I would mention in a listing, unless selling a designer dress or shoes worth hundreds of pounds or more.. Ah, well.

Anyway, I'm glad you guys agree!

Way ott as a sales pitch, but I do agree with all he says. Private feedback makes me wonder what you're hiding.

LilyBossom · 15/08/2013 16:03

you can't sell with private feedback anyway can you?

ToysRLuv · 15/08/2013 16:07

Hmm.. maybe I should "unprivatise" the feedback on all my items then. If only I knew how to do that in bulk. To change it manually for each listing would take me a whole fecking evening. Sad

LilyBossom · 15/08/2013 16:09

no I mean if your feedback itself is private - that is different to a private listing.

ToysRLuv · 15/08/2013 16:09

Private, as in, you can't see what the item was.You can see the feedback itself. That's why I thought it couldn't be an issue, and you can easily see my listings for what I'm selling (mainly one kind of item).

ToysRLuv · 15/08/2013 16:10

Yes, I didn't think you could have private feedback as such?

OP posts:
ToysRLuv · 15/08/2013 16:13

Right. Ok, I should change to public listings, then! But it definitely says you can't sell with private feedback, so I still don't understand the rant..

Feedback that Ebayer leaves is pretty awful, straight on my BBL. Thanks for warning.

superbagpuss · 15/08/2013 20:22

I saw a similar rant on one who sold boxes of CDs, basically said it was a box untested, you get what you pay for
