Is it fair to leave negative feedback for over inflated postage?

Just a musing really. I'm not really a huge eBay buyer but have recently been buying stuff for DD. just doll things really and all private sellers.

It's occurred to me that they seem to be charging greatly over he odds for postage. I pay £4 for postage and when it arrives its franked at £1.50. I've avoided many sellers like this so it's really not an issue to me, I've just not bought from them.

But do people ever leave negative feedback for inflated prices on postage? I know there is the star rating, but it doesn't seem to do a lot. It seems in the last few years I've been away from eBay the postage prices have rocketed!

The action taken was spiteful, hateful, malicious and mean-spirited. That is not a personal attack, that is the truth. Go ahead, report.

Higgle where on earth are people saying it would be okay to steal from a company? They're just saying you have made enormous assumptions about things and that your actions were OTT. For what it's worth, if you rang the main London switchboard of my employer (who are huge) then I'm guessing they'd have told you putting things through the franking machine wasn't permitted. But I work in one of the smaller offices where they are happy to do it. But your actions would have no doubt got our nice, helpful, obliging post room guy into trouble so who cares, hey?

I don't like to leave points un answered but tbh I have been very shocked and saddened by the responses I've had to what I think is quite reasonable action. Nothing will persuade me otherwise, and I think itis quite out of order to judge a whole person, about whom you know very little on the basis of what I consider appropriate action. I wold never dream of displaying the unkindness and in one case abusiveness that posters have on this thread. I don't actually think some people actually read and understood what I'd said as I have made the point that I would have assumed it was OK if it had been a small firm, but if your parcels arrive stamped by the M&S admin franking machine ( no, it wasn't them but similar) concerns are raised. I was not concerned about the overcharging and £5 I'd been possibly fiddled out of but the cost to the company if this was going on week in week out with other sales.

Your post yesterday of 15.36 speaks contrary to what you now say is a lack of concern about having been 'scammed for a fiver' and not 'taking it lying down' and suggests another reason for taking such action than the greater good.

higgle I and others have told you of largish, national companies that we know of who would have allowed employees to use the franking machine and yet you keep saying it could only happen in a small one? Why is that? Why is your assumption correct but our evidence, based on facts and insider knowledge to be doubted?

We have told you how payments are processed and explained how it is not theft because there is payment and permission.

We have also explained why the person answering the phone may not have been aware of a local agreement or may not have considered it appropriate to discuss such an arrangement with you.

Are you taking such an entrenched position because thinking about the consequences of your actions if you were wrong is quite upsetting? You see I could understand that. I cannot understand why you would close your mind to a perfectly plausible possibility, albeit one you had not previously considered.

At the moment I am judging your actions as reported by you and your self-confessed close mindedness on this matter. I would hope you are a more than that as a person so I'm not judging you as a whole person, I am judging your actions as laid out by you and I think you were unreasonable and unkind.
