Excess postage charges

I've just recieved an item which is otherwise lovely, but the postage charged onthe listing has turned out to be three times higher than that on the envelope I recieved it in! I've messaged the seller very nicely and asked for a part refund of half the total, leaving her still in profit on p&p, but she has refused. How do I report her and open a case against her - none of the options I can find in the help centre seem appropriate?

It seems many sellers are charging £3 just to send a t shirt at the moment. I bought a vest for just over £10 in total as I didn't want to pay any more than that and I know what pp I was paying so I took that into account. However, what annoyed me more was that she listed it as sending first class but it was sent second class with the second class large letter stamp on it which I believe is 90p! Even with brand new packaging it wouldn't come to that! Those who say that seller has to pay ebay fees, Paypal fees and that is should be part of PP cost, no it shouldn't. It should be part of the minimum cost of the item.

If in total, it was still a bargain than what you'd pay for in the shops then there's not much you can do about it though so just leave a low rating for postage in feedback if it bothers you that much.

Haven't done much ebay selling just recently, but last year, when I was doing quite a bit, I used to weigh the item plus its proposed packaging, and use the postage calculator on ebay to get a post price, generally trying to offer a number of postage options. Than add on about 30p for packing materials, bags, paper, tape etc. and probably round up to the nearest 25p. No complaints from anyone so far (100% positive feedback on 98 sales). Of course, the new plethora of package sizes and charges does complicate life greatly.
