Watchers on buy it now items?

Do you reckon the watchers are only watching as they have similar items to sell or do you think I might get a sale out of one of them! I thought I'd try doing mainly buy it now this time, have 5 watchers on one of my items and 2 or 3 on a few of my others. Also is it ok to post a link to my bits on here so you can tell me if you think I've priced things about right?

I sometimes watch if I have one similar to sell, but also if I'm waiting for payday, or bidding on the same thing and if I lose that bid, then I'll BIN from the other person instead, so, yes, sometimes I buy.

I tend to watch things on BiN if I'm waiting to be paid, so that I can pay straight away by. Or if I see something that I want but can't afford yet - it saves my previously watched items and lists similar ones that I might be interested in

I watch a Buy It Now item if I haven't made my mind up about it. Or if it's one of several and I'm waiting to see how much the others go for.

I sometimes watch if the item is overpriced & I want to see if it gets relisted at a lower price.

I frequently watch I it's something I like and want in the future but am not desperate for right now. e.g. We are in the middle of an extension so I will watch nice things I see for the new bedroom in the hope they are still available/relisted closer to the time or when I'm completely sure about them. Also if I have spare cash left over for any reason, I often check out my watch list and impulse buy from it. Also, if I have my eye on something I will watch a few similar items to compare them.

I often watch when I am making up my mind or looking at alternatives, or if I can find it cheaper elsewhere.

Watchers are generally "pinning" it for interest, it's something they like but not enough to bid straight away. There might be the same or similar item further down the page.

Canny watchers know to only bid once in the dying seconds, to avoid pushing the price up in advance too As a long-term (10 years + Ebayer there is NOTHING WORSE than two low-feedback bidders in a bidding war, each wanting to be the top bidder for all of an hour before the other one outbids them. I've seen some extremely mediocre stuff going for £££ because of this silly behaviour. Good luck to them tho (shrugs) if they want to pay that much for something...

Bearing in mind generally items with less than 5 watchers generally don't sell or have a lone bidder. An item with 30+ watchers should get 2-3 bidders. (my observations only). HTH!

there is no bidding war on BIN items

all the above is relevant for auctions but not BIN. there is no point watching BIN to see what it goes for because you already know, you will only know if it does not sell

a watcher on a BIN probably wants one of the items and is keeping an eye on it in case they
1.) do not win an auction at cheaper price,
2.) auction goes higher than BIN price
3.) waiting to see if someone else will offer BIN at lower price or with best offers

if numbers 1-3 fail they might buy your item, watvchers on BIN are really irrelevant but there are still some silly buyers to only do the BIN when a minute left but who cares

though I tend to agree with rosebelle about watchers converting to buyers there are always exceptions like no watchers then a bid

but I reckon something with 10+ watchers nearly always sells, more than 15 and you would be unlucky not to get more than starting price

I tend to only watch BIN to remind me to check on the likely price for something similar I want to sell.

I browse on eBay when I am eating my packed lunch at work. I will often watch BIN things at that point so that I can show them to dd in the evening. (I have learned the hard way never to buy her anything without checking with her first! )

Well I've sold one item of my 14 so far with a couple of days to go. I'll remain ever hopeful, but realistically I think they'll be relisted
