That's awful. From what I've read in the past eBay/PayPal won't do anything about it. Makes a mockery of the system. I couldn't pay on my debit card in a shop and then when I've got home with the goods ask Barclays to refund the money. I don't understand why this can happen.

This happened to me.

Email the buyer, apologise for bothering her(!) and explain that you were under the impression that she had been happy with the item in question but you have received an email from PayPal saying that the item has been subject to chargeback. Has there been a problem in the meantime as you would welcome the opportunity to rectify the situation.

In my case, the buyer had had issues with her bank which lead to her PayPal account being put on hold or something and that had meant that chargebacks were put on all the transactions. She had been unaware that this was the case and was able to get onto PayPal to rectify.

Also ring PayPal and ask what is going on as this buyer left positive feedback?

In the event the buyer is taking the piss, email her back and say you would have sent her the item for free had you known she was that hard up for £3.

You have her name and address. Leave it a couple of years and then take appropriate revenge.
