Can't believe it, a very well worn loved and much loved quinny pushchair, has now sold twice but not gone. no reserve.. I thought it would be fine..didn't have any expectations. So now already the first winner miraculously had a broken down car and couldn't collect, and now the 2nd winner, has a broken arm and can't collect so wishes to send a courier - with 'a gift' for my time and effort to wrap it in bin bags.. ummm, I specifically said 'cash on collection' am I totally correct to think that whoever this seller is is trying to just a) wind me up and make profit from my item that I wanted to go to someone that could just enjoy/use it b) scam me c) genuine buyer with broken arm ??
Sorry to rant.. it's just sooo sodding frustrating. 2nd listing and feel like people think I'm a mug ??

just for anyone vaguely thinking I thought my item was really 'jinxed' I did mean to put it in inverted comma's. I am a ebay 'virgin' and just figured this whole blah blah a very common thing. Given all of the other 4 buyers did exactly what I did when I brought something and just turned up paid cash and went off hopefully happy with the item they brought.. anyone that umms and ahhs, is as far as I can figure out in my ebay virgin year surely not genuine ifsywim?? i

whatever you do, do not allow them to arrange their own courier. If you specified cash on collection that is that, and if they don't pay open an unpaid case otherwise you won't get your fees back. If you don't do this and offer to underbidder you could have two lots of final value fees to pay.

thank you... goodness, it's a whole new world out there, I think you kindly advised me on this topic before. Wow, I knew it was a case of trust my instinct so thought I'd double check! . Hadn't even thought of fee's I have to pay. Right so sounds like my 'sorry not being awkward about your broken arm but I am too busy to accept/ deal with couriers / paypal means I did specify cash on collection and therefore will re-list if not heard again by Tues (a week since auction ended?}
So is my instinct correct in that people think they can 'profit' from this item in some way ? and not got that personal touch of 'I want this item, I'll pop round and pick it up ?" I'm thinking I'm missing something but figure it's something to do with ebay 'dealer's or something compared to people that just genuinely want the item ? hence all the bother for my jinxed item!

no don't relist yet - you need to open an unpaid case against the non payer first, then close it 4 days later to get your fees back, and then once that is done you can relist.

You will need to do this for both the winners as you will now have 2 lots of final value fees which will be about 10% each of the sale price.

Hi, thanks for advice.. I'm waiting till tomorrow (Tues) which will be a week since the auction was won. If I don't get a response from the email saying I want arrangements to collect / pay then I can open a case.. So frustrating happened twice now on same item.
Thanks again.

It's ebay, not a charity site, if people want to buy and sell on for a profit, thats up to them. If you are bothered about who your item goes to you are using the wrong site.

HappyJoyful · 03/09/2012 15:25

sorry, wasn't really saying I care who it goes obviously I know people can buy and sell for profit etc and don't care at all - Just obviously do care if they can't then actually pay or collect

once the case is opened you have to wait 4 days to close it - then you can relist or do a second chance offer.
