It arrived late, all scruffy (as in not ironed at all, badly presented) and it stinks of cigarette ! What feedback shall I leave ?

Did the listing state 'from a smoke free home'?

I wouldn't worry about it not being ironed, you will surely wash it first before wearing?

TangoSierra · 31/07/2012 09:30

Neutral. And explain. You like the top, but arrived smelling of smoke and unwashed. Does it say from smoke free home?

ALLMYCHILDREN1978 · 31/07/2012 09:32

It doesn't say if it is from smoke free home.

Being ironed I wouldn't care about as even the best ironing gets creased in the post.

Smoke would be horrible (I'm an ex smoker and I hate the smell, makes me feel sick), but I suppose if you didn't ask specifically and it doesn't say smoke free, then it's not really their fault?

I would leave neutral but make it clear in the explanation, as pp said.

Hopefully the smell will wash out.

I can see why you would be disappointed but you could be being a bit harsh. Clothes inevitably get creased in transit and unless it was new, most people would expect to wash the clothes in which case the smoke smell should go - though comment if it does not. Maybe a comment about packaging if it looks scruffy or didn't arrive in the best condition. Personally I just wouldn't leave feedback. I'd avoid that seller in future too.

I think you should email the seller first before you leave any feedback. I have received stuff in that state before and seller has refunded.

I agree the smell is so bad you really want to put it straight in the outside bin.

sarahtigh · 31/07/2012 22:30

there is a certain type of grey mailing bag that makes everything smell sort of smoky... i got a batch like this used them to send books

even if was ironed would not look like it when arrived so that is way too much to expect. I deliberaely fold cloths as tight and flat as possible to get into large letter category rather than packet as it saves quite a lot on postage, i would only expect an item of clothing to be folded and put in a waterproof plastic bag, with correct address and postage

definitely contact seller first before leaving feedback

GobblersKnob · 31/07/2012 22:35

I would contact the seller.

I send everything out washed and always iron them for the photo, but sometimes forget to fold them straight up, so they get a bit creased before sending. Personally although I wash everything and most of what I buy arrives smelling clean I would always wash it on arrival anyway.

I feel slightly worried atm as I am selling lots of my mums stuff for her, she does smoke so obviously I am not listing it as 'smoke free home' as I would my own stuff, it is being washed before sending, but I am not sure if there is still a slight smell.

That's a bit rambly sorry, just refer to the first line Grin
