Bought a top on ebay but..

It arrived late, all scruffy (as in not ironed at all, badly presented) and it stinks of cigarette ! What feedback shall I leave ?

Did the listing state 'from a smoke free home'?

I wouldn't worry about it not being ironed, you will surely wash it first before wearing?

Neutral. And explain. You like the top, but arrived smelling of smoke and unwashed. Does it say from smoke free home?

Being ironed I wouldn't care about as even the best ironing gets creased in the post.

Smoke would be horrible (I'm an ex smoker and I hate the smell, makes me feel sick), but I suppose if you didn't ask specifically and it doesn't say smoke free, then it's not really their fault?

I would leave neutral but make it clear in the explanation, as pp said.

Hopefully the smell will wash out.

I can see why you would be disappointed but you could be being a bit harsh. Clothes inevitably get creased in transit and unless it was new, most people would expect to wash the clothes in which case the smoke smell should go - though comment if it does not. Maybe a comment about packaging if it looks scruffy or didn't arrive in the best condition. Personally I just wouldn't leave feedback. I'd avoid that seller in future too.

I think you should email the seller first before you leave any feedback. I have received stuff in that state before and seller has refunded.

I agree the smell is so bad you really want to put it straight in the outside bin.

there is a certain type of grey mailing bag that makes everything smell sort of smoky... i got a batch like this used them to send books

even if was ironed would not look like it when arrived so that is way too much to expect. I deliberaely fold cloths as tight and flat as possible to get into large letter category rather than packet as it saves quite a lot on postage, i would only expect an item of clothing to be folded and put in a waterproof plastic bag, with correct address and postage

definitely contact seller first before leaving feedback

I would contact the seller.

I send everything out washed and always iron them for the photo, but sometimes forget to fold them straight up, so they get a bit creased before sending. Personally although I wash everything and most of what I buy arrives smelling clean I would always wash it on arrival anyway.

I feel slightly worried atm as I am selling lots of my mums stuff for her, she does smoke so obviously I am not listing it as 'smoke free home' as I would my own stuff, it is being washed before sending, but I am not sure if there is still a slight smell.

That's a bit rambly sorry, just refer to the first line Grin
