Posted an item in June, buyer emailed to say it hadn't turned up, after a couple of weeks of faffing & emailing, I refunded her the full amount plus p&p. She was obviously very disappointed but was very nice about it and ended up leaving me great feedback. After I'd refunded her I reclaimed the listing price (which was about 15p!) from ebay. She had to confirm that she hadn't receiving the item etc, all of which she very nicely did.
Fast forward to today, when I get home to find the original item, in the original packaging, waiting for me. Scrawled all over with red pen and has a big Royal Mail sticker on it with the 'not called for' box ticked. So either she missed the 'sorry you were out' card, or the postie didn't leave one (has happened to me before). Next time something doesn't turn up, I will definitely advise the buyer to ring the local sorting office to check it hasn't ended up in there.
But anyway, the question is, should I relist the item with a buy it now price of exactly what she paid for it (and adding the cost of the buy it now price), or should I just request payment through paypal then post it to her? I know I should do it through ebay but honestly, what a right old faff it has all been. WWYD?! Advice please.
