Hi all
I sold a camera on ebay and the buyer said it was damaged when it reached her - not visibly damaged but apparently the shutter not opening and lines appearing intermittently on photos - had been packed well in bubble wrap and box.

What do I do? Claim back from ebay/post office? I have refunded her already - but do I have to refund her return postage too, as it wasn't my fault??

I bought the camera on ebay last summer and the seller sent me the receipt which I have lost - gah - do I have any comeback with him?? Are there any guarantees on ebay electrical items??

Help please!
Thanks
Jane

well you could try claiming from royal mail - but it depends on how it was packaged. You did get the buyer to return the camera before you refunded didn't you? You can't claim from the original seller if royal mail damaged it can you. Are you sure it wasn't faulty before you dispatched it?

Yep, have camera back and it seems ok but haven't tested it yet. The packaging was fine - should have been well protected. Yep, am sure it was faulty, I have just upgraded camera.
