Ebay removed my listing!

I listed some of DS's underwear in a bundle, mostly used (but very clean!) and one or two were new. I've had an email from ebay saying they have removed my listing because you can not sell used underwear and have warned me not to relist it as I could lose my account. Now, I've never had this problem before, I've sold bundles of ds's underwear before with no problems and looking on ebay lots of other people are still selling it too. When I listed other bundles before I put them under boys clothing then mixed bundles, condition used. This time I put them under boys clothing then underwear, put new with defects as condition but said they were used in the listing (lots of other sellers do this) Was this my error? If I relist them under mixed bundles will ebay know I am trying to trick them?

I've been given perfectly useable pants off friends - I see no problem at all.

There are some werido stuff on e-bay I've see adult woman selling worn underwear including wrecked shoes. Also dodgy e-mail address why do they let this go on?

Years ago I bought tons of useable 2nd hand nappies and they were fab and sold them back on there.

I think all used underwear is a no no on ebay - against their rules.

tabulahrasa · 30/01/2012 12:04

eBay doesn't let you sell used underwear because it does tend to attract strange buyers... The reason that sometimes it's fine and sometimes they remove a listing is purely because they don't police auctions, they rely on other eBay users noticing that rule has been broken and reporting it.

used on ebay means not new it does not mean dirty it has been a rule for ages same as with reuseable nappies you can only sell new or new (other) ie not in original packet

Like all other groups ignorance of the rules law is no excuse neither is well other people do it,

you were genuine but others may not be also some things are too difficult for ebay to police so they just ban then like knives for instance you can only sell cutlery not cooking knives etc

Ah, but you can list a used swim suit! And if that isn't worn next to the nefarious bits, what is? Confused

I have heard so many times this thing about used underwear and it really gets quite tiresome, WHY DON'T PEOPLE READ THE REGULATIONS !!
How difficult is it to understand :

"You may list most kinds of used clothing on eBay as long as the items are clean and clearly described as used.

For health and hygiene reasons, sellers can't list used underwear, cloth nappies, swimwear and certain sportswear."

Just for those who still don't get it let's be clear:

YOU CAN NOT SELL USED UNDERWEAR UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ON eBay IT IS AGAINST eBay POLICY

OR:

YOU CAN NOT SELL USED UNDERWEAR EVEN IF IT HAS BEEN CLEANED, NO USED UNDERWEAR OF ANY DESCRIPTION AT ALL.

Nice zombie revival

fairisledog · 21/11/2014 11:48

.......but timely for me as I was just batching up the kids old pants to sell, (well I'd accept postage + costs really as I just don't want them to go to landfill) having offered them to their old nursery who said they aren't allowed to accept them any more due to hygiene regulations, ditto at all the local charity shops.

Can you sell boy's vests on ebay ?

milkyjo80 · 21/11/2014 13:19

I bought some used knickers from ebay for my little one and I am not a peado. GET IT

yummum8 · 29/07/2017 10:16

I sold some clean hardly used secondhand bras on ebay and was surprised a man bought them. I wouldn't be very happy if my man bought me secondhand underwear - but I s'pose he could have wanted then for himself. Weird.

This thread was last updated Fri 21-Nov-14 but is still valid.

It is possible that a man has an account that he shares with his wife or partner.

It is also possible that he wants them for himself. Does it matter as long as you get paid and he is not unpleasant to you?
