I'm a regular seller on ebay, the odd few things here and there, I'm not a business seller and I dont have a shop on ebay, I have in excess of 500 transactions and have been a member since 2004. I've sold about 25 items over the past 6-8 weeks which is unusual for me, but I did a massive clear out at home and had lots to sell.

Last night I tried to re-list a pair of Gucci sunglasses which did not sell and was told I couldn't re-list them as I had reached my selling limits. I cant relist for 30 days. This is the first time this has happened to me and I'm a bit confused. Does this only apply to this particular item or to any other items I want to sell? I have a couple of brand new items still with their tags on that I am hoping to sell before Christmas and am a bit disappointed. Went searching on ebay for some help and I see I can ring them to have my limit examined and perhaps changed, anyone ever done this? Any help appreciated!

Thy have done this to me. I called them and they said I have a below average performance so they have restricted the abount I can sell each month. I am pissed off with this as it is the delivery times that let me down even though I state that I may not post for 5 days I have been given low feedback for slow postage.

Thanks pud - I have a 100% positive feedback and the following detailed seller ratings: 4.9, 5.0, 4.9, 4.8 (postage) I live in Southern Ireland so my postage is always going to be higher as I sell 99% of my things to the UK. I cant do anything about this. Is a 4.8 considered low?

Think anything below 2 is considered low so it looks like you are fine. I had 100% but my stars for postage was about 1.8. They will also put limits if you have sold too much of the same brand. I would call them

I just rang ebay now and the very nice man told me that its because my paypal account is non verified, and this limit on selling applies when you're selling a top end luxury item such as these Gucci sunglasses! (1 pair!!)
But I've just checked my account on paypal and it is verified! and has been for some time! I propably need to ring them again as obviously ebay is not updated with the correct verification details.

you could probably list other stuff but there are \i tihnk a max of 10designer items a month for private sellers also things that are often faked are monitored more closely

actually you risk being limited if stars fall below 4.7 if a business or 4.5 private you should not have more than 3 low ratings 1 or 2 stars in any category in a 12 month period 1.8 for postage is really really low it means the average person is very unhappy

Unlink your PayPal account from within your My eBay and re link it that might do it. You have to have a premier account to sell assume you do.

Thanks for all your help - spoke to another helpful person in ebay earlier on who very kindly removed the limit from my account after I had re-assured her I was just a Mum at home clearing out her house and selling it on ebay and not someone running a business on ebay! It was quite the inquisition!! Nonetheless she was very helpful and removed the limit there and then which has allowed me to sell again!! Hurrah!
