got a load of stuff to list, would like to do it on a free listing weekend if i can :)

also, someone told me i could build up my listings and save them and then at the right time i just have to press one button as it were, is that true and if so how do you do it? i only know how to schedule a listing in advance, which you have to pay for.

thanks :)

You schedule it in advance and then go in at start of free listings weekend and start auction.

KatharineClifton · 26/10/2011 12:44

So you can only schedule in advance with the fee sleepevader?

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 26/10/2011 13:04

Yes, you can schedule in advance but you only get charged the 0.06p fee if the scheduled listing goes live at the time you set. So set it for a very late evening time, much later than you actually want it to start. Then at the time you do actually want it to go live you revise the lsiting and change it from scheduled to 'start immediately' and there is no charge. Go through each auction one by one clicking revise and you're done.

Dinosaurs explains it much better than I did!

I tried this out for the first time on the last free listing weekend and it worked a treat! I hadn't listed since Feb/Mar and I noticed that I was unable to list in 2 categories for free. When did that change?

KatharineClifton · 26/10/2011 22:35

Cheers Dinosaurs :) Now all we need to know is the date of the next free listing weekend.

muslimah28 · 27/10/2011 15:58

thanks this is really really useful, hoping someone comes on soon with some insider info on dates now :)

Just found out it is free listing this weekend. Is it too late to prepare some listings and have them set to go live in future but really have them start immediately this evening for free?

sleepevader · 30/10/2011 07:57

It should be fine- just remember to do it though!

mirpuppet · 30/10/2011 08:00

Thank you sleepevader. And yes I must do it today!

mirpuppet · 30/10/2011 21:07

Thanks ladies I love the trick listed many items and now will just list things for future and save up for free listing weekends! Definitely the best tip of the day :o

FaithHopeAndKevin · 24/02/2012 11:56

This weekend is free listings but I'm still not sure I understand how I could set them up today to go live tomorrow?

fergoose · 24/02/2012 12:07

do your listing as normal, then choose it to start tomorrow night at say 11pm (eBay state this costs 6p)

Then tomorrow go into MyeBay and hit scheduled listings, and click on the listing, then hit start immediately. As long as you do it before the scheduled time of 11pm (or whatever you chose) you will not be charged the listing fee, but can have the auction starting at the right time of day, say 8.30pm to attract more potential bidders.
