I won a coast dress ive been hunting for on Saturday paid £25 (she had BIN £100) and had previously emailed seller about paying more p&p to get it special delivery as want to wear it to a wedding on Froday.

She has now emailed:

I am really sorry but upon packing up the dress to take to work, my lunch has opened in my bag onto it and there is a large grease mark down the front. As the material is so delicate it will not come out. I will issure the refund ASAP. I am really sorry for this but could not send you the damaged dress. I went to a dry cleaner to check what they could do but they cant.

I have asked for pictures telling her my mum is a specialist dry cleaner (she's not) but I get the feeling she doesnt want to sell it as it went cheaply.

Im soo annoyed I feel like crying. I now have nothing to wear and to top it all I had my hair done which also went wrong.

Dont think I can do anything other than Neg her - bloody gutted though. Sad

Add her to your favourite sellers then keep am eye out for the dress going back on sale. Ask pointed questions if you spot it Grin

I would assume the same - I once had something similar happen, seller cancelled the item, claimed it was damaged, I suspected it was actually because it didn't reach a high enough price, kept an eye out on the seller and they relisted the exact same thing a few days later Shock bloody nerve.

Leave a strongly worded negative to warn others and I hope you find something even better to wear.

But I just want the dress. no ones selling it and I NEED it. You know when you feel like giving up, I know its only a dress...... I need to have strong words with myself I think Smile

Put a link on here - maybe one of us has it!

fergoose · 22/08/2011 22:05

tell the seller to send it anyway and you will try and get the stain out yourself

catsareevil · 22/08/2011 22:05

I think that you are right and she doesnt want to sell it at the price you won it for.

How annoying.

I had something simliar once but they did go through with the sale. Boden velvet coat for dd2 advertised as New with tags. I got it for £9.99 - HUGE bargain. Then I had a message saying ooops sorry the vendor's husband had out the wrong category and it was used but in good condition - did I want to cancel. I wasn't bothered - would have bought it at that price whatever. When it arrived it was in mint condition. I reckon they hoped I would cancel and had cut the tags off before sending. No way had that been worn.
