I bought a car seat cover last week and the description said "The seat is in very good condition with no rips or tears. With a good clean it will probably look brand new."

I received it yesterday and it's really disgusting and has yellow stains all over it. I put it in the washing machine and it hasn't changed at all. It certainly doesn't look brand new!

Thinking about it now, I can't understand why you would sell something that's so dirty without just popping it in the washing machine. Confused

Anyway, I emailed saying I was unhappy. She's replied very quickly saying "ive re read the description and i do say with a good clean it will probably look new. U can see from the picture there is a mark at the front.
To be honest i thought that would of come out, but if u are not happy. If u return the item to me. I will send u a full refund."

I feel annoyed that I will have to pay for postage (which will be higher because I'd need to send it recorded) and wait for a refund. How do I ask for a refund including my return postage costs?

I've just checked the return postage cost and it'll be £2.93 which seems a lot when it only cost £8.99 and I don't think I should be paying it anyway.

she is doing the right by offering to give you a refund. Unfortunately you can not force her to refund your return postage.
Tbh, you took a chance by hoping the marks would come out. She did use the word 'probably' and this will cover her argument iyswim.

You could always ask her regarding the return postage, she just might agree. Otherwise, it's up to you whether to return and at least get a refund of original costs.
