Purchasers from abroad when specifically say 'post to UK' - advice please

DH and I listed some of DS's old clothes on ebay last weekend (our first sales), they're finishing tonight but one of the bids is from someone in Croatia when we specified 'postage to UK only' on the listing. What do we do if they win the auction? Can we charge them whatever the postage is to Croatia? I don't mind but I think it will be more than the £2 we've listed. Also do we need to do 'international signed for' if they do win?

Any advice appreciated.

YOu can indeed charge them the correct postage.

However, you can block international bidders using your bidder requirements.

Do that here for future listings.

You do not need to send signed for when an item is below £41.00.

Thank you FabbyChic, we have now updated bidder requirements. Grin

Do we have to sell to the bidder if they win?

Well you can refuse to, or if you have more than 12 hours left to run you could remove their bid and state you do not ship to the UK.

Remove bid here

Sorry do not ship outside the UK

you need to go to my ebay preferences to block overseas bidders. If you now refuse to sell before doing so you face a negative feedback.

There's no reason to refuse this sale, just make sure you change your preferences to block overseas bidders in the future.

Similar thing happened to me recently, we specified collection only but the person who won the item wanted it posting. At first I refused and said I would refund the item, but she said she was desperate for it and would pay for a courier (it was a large item). I agreed and asked her to pay all P&P costs before I sent it, then arranged a courier collection.

So, if your Croatian bidder wins, I would send them a message saying it was listed as UK only but you will post IF they pay the extra before you send it.

Hope this helps
