Is there a best/worst time to end an auction?

Despite telling ourselves several times that we're going to do it, we've never sold anything on eBay but we're putting our first things up for sale this weekend. We've got an absolute load of Christmas decorations/ornaments to sell as a job lot and we reckon this is the best time of year to list it

I'm planning on putting it on a 2 week sale and I'm thinking early evening as a finish time, is this a good idea? Also, would Saturday or Sunday be best?

No - do it this weekend - it is a free listing weekend. You don't pay anything for the basic insertion fee.

do a bit of research on your xmas decorations - they can fetch good money. I'm not an expert but the words vintage do well. Some makes do well too.

Thanks to you too sixlostmonkeys but none of it's vintage. Nice to hear they can fetch good money though. I was going to put everything on separately but there's just waaaay too much so I'll list exactly what's there, put a few pics on and see how it goes

On discovering just how much money the vintage xmas decs can bring, I went out last year around the charity shops and bought loads of lovely vintage baubles for 10p each - that's a massive profit to be made........ only I thought they were so nice I put them on my own tree and spent the season admiring them

If you do free listing this weekend, do a 10 day auction - then you end on a week night which is when people are sober and remembering to bid

when I sell on there - not on this name which is my ebay posting ID - I always finish Auctions on Tuesday / Wednesday or Thursday between 7pm and 10pm
Its worked for 9 years.
