LocalbBuyer paid for postage ... would you deliver ?

a buyer who is fairly local to me ie 5 miles away has last night bought and paid for a pair of boots (via PP) including around £6 on postage.

The thing is I am happy to deliver today as I am actually going virtually past their house so was thinking of hand delivering.

Would you do this and refund the postage ? or am I going to get caught up in the non delivery / no proof of postage scam thing ?

WWYD ?

Ask her? If she is happy for you to deliver then go for it, saves on packaging but definitely refund postage.

I have offered to do this (or have said 'I live close do they want to pick up' etc) and sometimes they say yes and sometimes no! Yes it's easy to do a refund on the postage.

yes, i wpould but good point about 'no show' thing. Maybe email via ebay to make all arrangements...would that be enough?

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 21/10/2010 17:54

or take a something for her to sign?

Talkinpeace · 22/10/2010 18:29

print a copy of the order off the ebay system and get them to sign and pay cash - saves you your paypal fees

Defo ask her. I was a bit peeved at paying £5 p&p for something hand delivered but in end recociled it as it was a fragile item and better her than royal mail!

onadietcokebreak · 22/10/2010 21:35

If they raised a paypal dispute they would probably win as you dont have an approved proof of postage/delivery

yes I agree refunding postage if it's no problem is a nice gesture but it's no different to paying someone else to deliver really
