The old thread is almost full. I hope no one minds me starting a new one…

DD really struggling with her body image at the moment. Knows it’s her anorexia brain but doesn’t seem able to quieten it. She found the counselling she had at the clinic very gruelling but I think she might need some Ito talk to. It’s so hard finding the right person though.

My dd withdrew from the coach we use a year ago @Desdemonadryeyes despite her being incredibly gentle with dd. It’s hard to deal with speaking to someone I think.

Edit - I think you said your dd is mid 20s? Or am I getting confused with someone else. If so, has she come across the Tabitha ferrar books?

She is mid twenties. I’ll look into those books thank you.

I hope your dd finds her useful too. Yes, my dd has started. Idk exactly what. Course overview lectures of some sort, I imagine, as she only has a few hours this week. Yesterday she said she found one ‘inspirational’, which was so good to hear. Due to the ED, I don’t think she has been inspired for a long time. Her A levels were just going through the motions at best.

We dropped mine off this afternoon - all went well really and she was very excited bless her - even bumped into a friend from home on the way to her halls!
She's busy unpacking and getting her room all nice - she is very particular with her decor!

As for DS - that's a whole other ball game. He is at a 'sleepover' tonight - won't tell us where. He has just demanded money for 'food at a pub' but won't tell us where or what his plans are (we don't quite believe he would use the money for food). So we said we would give him money tomorrow for food at a restaurant he likes to go to (as we'd previously promised). He has been so abusive and has sent such vile messages in response. We are preparing for another horrible weekend tbh.

We have had no further contact with anyone from CAMHS this week, so no idea what's going on there... helpful.

I have been much calmer this week - I'm not sure what has come over me. I haven't cried since Sunday. Very odd. I don't know whether it's some kind of acceptance of the situation, or exhaustion? Not sure.

@littlebabycheeses99 it is portably both. Our bodies can only cope with so much stress that we can’t control. You have done so much and until others help you, I think your body is right to do what it’s doing.

Just had a message from DS to go and pick him up and to 'hurry up'... so not sure why the urgency. He doesn't seem drunk..
