Book recommendation- Food Mad The Nutritional Neuroscience of the Starved Brain by Victoria Schonwald.
Half way through reading this at the moment as we are back in the trenches refeeding our DD for the second time. I think it’s really useful for explaining Eating Disorders and why a lot of ED behaviours are as a result of a brain that is starved rather than being deliberate and the sufferer being in control and doing things on purpose. Also reinforces the ‘feeding’ first using mechanical eating / eating plan. supported by family and if possible a good clinical team, before any attempt at therapy etc. Might be useful to other parents.

Thank you for this I have just ordered. We are in hospital negotiating refeeding as well and might help me work out why what's going on is happening. Good luck for your daughter and your journey.
