Stupid things people say when trying to be supportive

Dd14 was diagnosed with AN in May. I’ve been the one going to all the appointments and trying to implement the meal plan. Here are some of my favourite stupid things people have said when trying to be supportive: Have the raw juice diet? If you give her a multivitamin each day she’ll be fine. Did you try offering her pudding? It doesn’t matter if she’s lost weight on holiday if she had a good time.

But seriously, it’s exhausting enough dealing with her and all her appointments. I worry I’m shutting down and withdrawing from wider friends and family because it’s just too exhausting to try to educate them as well as myself.

And the worse one… when DH said she must have been referred for an ECG because she’s not exercising, when he knows full well they’ve told her not to exercise because she is too underweight.
