Binge eating -can you recover without therapy?

Im slowly coming to the realisation that my disordered eating is really BED. Today I have eaten a collosal amount and cannot stop. This is happening 2 times a week at the moment. I can't control my need for food and I feel sick but im absolutely going to keep eating.
I don't want to do therapy. There's a whole raft of things I can't face and if I do open the door, the fallout will destroy everything so I need to do this on my own.
If anyone has been here, are there any books/treatments you'd recommend?

@Pullmybrainout no, we cannot access any help because our local CAMHS is only funded to work with young people with AN, so not bulimia or binge eating disorder. The effect on my DD’s life is terrible. She is just 16 and she actually booked herself a GP appointment for this morning and managed to speak to a sympathetic female GP who apparently is referring DD into paediatrics so that CAMHS have to take her onto their caseload. I won’t hold my breath…

Fingers crossed for your DD @WhompingWillows
NHS MH services are a disgrace. Are you in a position to access private treatment?

@Pullmybrainout sadly not, I am a totally lone parent to two adopted children both of whom have such multiple complexities that I have had to sacrifice my career. I am utterly tenacious though and if there’s a chink of done support for either of my kids, I’m on it!

I really hope your DDs referral works out in that case xx
