Eating disorder clinic - Not anorexia

Hello,
DD16 has an appointment this week at the eating disorder clinic.
She was at CAMHS last week who identified that she was going through binge starve cycles and immediately referred her.
She has history of low mood with her weight being the main contributing factor.

We previously saw a dietician at the recommendation of GP but DD would not engage as dietician talked about holistic eating rather than meal plan/calorie counting.

Does anyone have previous experience of attending a clinic like this?
Obviously I will listen to what they suggest but also conscious we may not be on the priority list for such a clinic as there is no danger to her life.
However, she did recently take an OD so maybe i should push for help but don't know what to ask.
DD does have private therapy which is helpful.

Thanks for listening!

Just wondering how you got on @DarkChocHolic?

We had a referral to CAHMS but they wouldn't see DD as she has ARFID. The only thing they suggested was going to the GP each wee to get her weighed 🤦‍♀️

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto
Sorry to hear!
DD had an assessment at the eating disorder clinic but as I suspected they don't think she has an ED.
They acknowledged she has issues with her eating but they feel she is better under camhs for depression etc.
In your case I would push camhs for a referral to the ED clinic.
The appointment comes through very quickly. I hope you get some help.
