Anyone else suffering from anorexia and pregnant

I've struggled with anorexia since I was 7 years old and am now 17 (18 in April) and have had many inpatient stays. Was abusing laxatives and diet pills for years and right up to when I found out I was pregnant. The news was a big shock as I was told I couldn't have children due to my anorexia. Stopping smoking (a big coping aid for me) and having to battle my anorexia and gain weight very quickly has caused me great anxiety and my changing body shape (20wks now) is really triggering my anorexia. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this and has any positive experiences/tips that might help me. (I am under the care of an eating disorder clinic but have recently transitioned from young adult to adult and haven't had my first adult appointment yet. As you can imagine the young adult team haven't had much experience with this situation.

Hi lovey. I've been both, but I don't think I was ever in as bad a place as you.
I rather liked being pregnant in part because it said that I was better.
Could you try to think of your bump as an achievement rather than a problem? "Look, world, you said I couldn't do this. Well, look at me now!"
I know it's easier said than done..
Babies are inexorable, they take what they need and they grow as they must. That can be a good thing - if it forces you to change your mindset - or a bad one - if it makes you feel out of control.
Can you work on taking ownership of your baby - as something you are growing and creating and feeding? I was so proud of my little sproglet. Still am. Congratulations, and best of luck xx

Hi OP I suffer with anorexia too and am pregnant. I see a psychotherapist weekly sometimes bi-weekly and at the16 week point I’ll be under the care of a consultant. I found it more difficult in the first few weeks due to bloating but it’s slowly getting a little easier. I’m ensuring I’m not starving myself and giving the baby all of the nutrients it needs. I eat fruit by the bucket load as this is a good group that doesn’t make me feel too guilty. I’m looking forward to developing a hard bump as I just feel a little fat right now.

I’d push for an early appointment as talking about it really helps. I’ve also enlisted the help of a nutritionist to keep me on track. I’d be happy to share this with you.
