I’m currently re-reading Wasted by Marya Hornbacher and find it really interesting to see where her ED started and how it progressed. Some bits I can relate to others not at all but interesting all the same.

Can anyone recommend any other similar books? I’m not looking for hints & tips if anyone thinks that - i’ve had an ED since junior school and am 44 now, but more interested in how people who were so very gravely ill and entrenched in an Ana mindset but still managed to recover. I can’t see a way out at the moment and hoping this might help.

Dead gorgeous by malorie Blackman is incredible, it’s not specifically about an eating disorder but the main character has bulimia which is featured lots. It does have info on what she eats first and last to help be sick etc so if that’s triggering don’t read it
