my 9 year old was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa 2 weeks ago. She is 9 years old and i thought she was too young but the doctors said kids are getting eating disorders younger and younger. She is currently in an eating disorders unit in a hospital because she was medically unstable. It has stressed me out to no end. The doctors said she will be released next week and I am worried about how to get her to continue to eat at home short of force feeding her. She has been up and down in hospital. Can anyone give me some tips?

Have they not offered you support via CAHMS? Or a dietician? Hmm I don't think asking ranomers on the internet will be much use. If you want support you should probably post in relationships here on MN.

They won't just release her back in to you care with a wish and a prayer.

They should have in place a care plan and therapy sessions booked in for her. Her care plan should include nutritional advice or at least strategies for helping her at home.

I'm sorry you are going through this, it's a horridly stressful thing to deal with.
