Which dialect to learn?

I'm planning to enroll on learnwelsh.cymru for a mynediad course, but the Powys region has a choice of north or south dialect.

We're planning to move shortly to somewhere between Welshpool and Newtown. Could be in Powys or Shropshire but I'd still like to start learning.

Any idea of which dialect I should choose? I have emailed the website but no response

Probably best to go with the north Wales dialect if you are going to live north of Newtown.
I've been told, by people who live there, that the dialect border runs just north of Llandrindod Wells. Got no idea if that's true or not, but Newtown is even further north than that.

North!
The right choice really matters there.

That's my region and I'd definitely say north

North.

Definitely north. My father was born in Newtown and they all spoke the northern form.
