coming up to 16, any other experiences?

I had DC via donor conception nearly 15 years ago in the UK, so a donor via LWC from what was then their own sperm bank. They said to me at the time that the donor could, but might not, send a message when the child was 16, before contact at 18. Our donor asked to be advised of births, and I was allowed to send him a short message via LWC shortly after giving birth. So, I mean it sounds like he might leave a message for my DC to pick up.

Has anyone else had this?

I have no idea if DC would even want to, they haven't been very interested so far.

I would love to hear experiences of DC going through this as they get older.

Have you asked the clinic? The process now is that a 'pen portrait' is usually left upon donation and can be accessed by the recipient at the time of treatment or on request, a donor conceived child can then request it themselves upon turning 16, I haven't heard of a new message being sent when a child turns 16 so it may be that it's the message from 16+ years ago
