We are doing donor egg / own sperm imminently. Anyone else in the same boat?

@EL8888
How are you? Hope things progressed well?
Hi @Angliski - good luck for your cycle too.
How is everyone?
My ERA is next week so just waiting now. The results take a few weeks so more waiting after that!
Trying to enjoy myself with friends and family this b/h but can’t wait until I’ve got the procedure out the way!

Angliski · 01/05/2021 22:53

Hello @GreyGoose1980 what’s an era?

Thank you! Scan next week and then on a plane a week Monday if all is well.

EL8888 · 02/05/2021 11:12

@GreyGoose1980 not sure about the progressing. Not especially convinced it’s worked. I was not thrilled by how it all unfolded: they didn’t want to use MACS “as MrEL8888’s sperm is excellent”. It’s really not, if they had bothered to do a DNA fragmentation test then they would see this. We instructed them to use MACS. I somehow controlled the urge to say l told you so when the outcome was lukewarm. I had thought we would have got more than 3 embryos if the eggs and sperm were so excellent Confused. We have 1 left in the freezer, which l doubt l will be motivated to do anything about. I’m already regretting the €400 to freeze it

Hi all

Hope you are okay!

Hi @Angliski - ERA is a test they do to determine your window of implantation and the exact amount of time you require progesterone. It’s often used for repeat implantation failure of good quality embryos. Hope your scan went okay?

Hi @EL8888
Thinking of you, the 2 week wait is the worst part. I usually get quite down in my two week wait and so relate to what you are saying about not feeling motivated to progress further if this one doesn’t work.
We also have MF issues so am never sure what is causing all our issues. Look after yourself.

I’ve just had my ERA - it wasn’t too bad though not pleasant! Results are back in five weeks so more waiting.

Feel annoyed today as saw a job I’d love to apply for and whilst after all these years I’m trying really hard not to put my life on hold, a promotion externally is not something I can realistically consider until ivf plays out. Sounds a bit silly to feel down as obviously I have no idea if I’d get it but it’s the fact it’s off the cards for me to apply that is so hard. Whilst I don’t love my current job I have sick pay for my transfer days and some flexibility for appointments and they know about ivf and I can’t start all those conversations from scratch in a new job!

Hope everyone else is having a better week x

Angliski · 07/05/2021 04:07

Hay wow, I didn’t know they could do that. Last time I went, the clinic said the exact window remains a mystery to science- must have come along in last two years, what does it involve then? @GreyGoose1980

Scan went well. Scanning lady said it was ‘perfect’ as it’s over 7mmz strangely proud. I spend so much time feeling ashamed of my infertility, it’s nice to celebrate the small Victories.
Worked first time last time, so here’s hoping.

Pcr test tomorrow. So much paperwork. Invitation letters, notarised documents, scans.... plus o have to leave my 15month old for four nights, which sucks.

EL8888 · 07/05/2021 17:01

@GreyGoose1980 they failed. I tested day 9 and nothing

Same. I have applied for a job lm really interested in but it was bad timing with the IVF and moving house. Think l might go for it, the lone one in the freezer (if we ever use it) we wouldn’t get out until travel restrictions are more relaxed

I’m so sorry @EL8888
It’s so tough. Am sending you a hug. We are here if you want to talk. Be kind to yourself xx

GreyGoose1980 · 07/05/2021 17:55

I am tempted to apply!

EL8888 · 07/05/2021 18:01

@GreyGoose1980 thanks. Just sick of the crushing disappointment. Yesterday was one of the worst days of my life ever. Everyone l knew in real life with fertility issues got their happy ending. A few from 1 round / 1 transfer

I’m a terrible influence as l like to hedge my bets so l would do it. My logic was if l had to say no to the job, then a baby would be the ultimate and supersede that. What do you do for work out of curiosity? Might be the same job!

@EL8888
I’m so sorry it’s so hard at the moment. I feel the same - so many pregnancy announcements and sadly me and most of the ladies I’ve chatted to re. DE on here and other sites are getting BFNs at the moment, so unfair.
I work in admin office management, just fancy a change and a step up. I like the idea of hedging bets. It’s more the telling them I need time for ivf months 1-3 of any probation period that I worry is a bit tricky.

Make sure you take care of yourself this weekend - here if you need to chat x

greendress789 · 14/05/2021 23:45

@GreyGoose1980 apply for the job, don't let this shit hold you back, it already takes enough from us x

greendress789 · 14/05/2021 23:46

I'm so sorry @EL8888 it's fo fucking unfair x

greendress789 · 14/05/2021 23:46

GreyGoose1980 · 17/05/2021 13:58

Thanks @greendress789
How are things with you?

greendress789 · 26/05/2021 13:03

Hi @GreyGoose1980 just on way back from having bloods taken to check if everything I've been doing over the past three months has worked - LIT therapy, steroids, etc. I find out next week 🤞

How is everyone getting on?

GreyGoose1980 · 20/06/2021 19:24
