Hi
I'm really just after some advice for anyone that may have already been through this? There's not alot of information online, forums etc that I can find anyway.
We're on pride angel, this seems to be the only donor website I can see.
So far I've found it difficult to find men that genuinely want to help, suggesting sex and so on. What are other peoples experiences with this?
We're also looking at clinic IUI but that is very costly and the success rate seems smaller? Again after any advice from anyone thats gone through this?

There is another site, co-parents, @lizzy787. I’ll be honest you will encounter some guys on there that are also just after sex but there are genuine guys too. You need to be very specific about what it is that you’re looking for and make it plainly clear that you are only looking for AI and that, that is none negotiable. I found my donor (I’m a single female) on co-parents and he’s awesome.

Good Luck.

My wife is currently 7 months pregnant with our Pride Angel miracle... happy to answer any questions you have 🙂

Hi @lizzy787 we found our donor on the coparents website too. I had no luck on pride angel. He’s really nice and is purely doing it for altruistic reasons! I found it so hard when we started looking for a donor to think that there are genuine men out there who want to help but there really is!
Good luck

@jessclark My Wife and I have just started exploring Pride Angel but not sure where to start and how legit it is. Do you have any advice on using them to find a donor?

Hello!!

I can see that this is an older thread, but I wanted to chime in as this is exactly the reason I joined MN this evening! I've just found a donor on coparents and he seems ideal. I am a single women and hoping for a donation as soon as its feasible. (I have spent three years preparing myself emotionally and financially... I am finally ready!) However this is all so new and scary! My main concern is what legal implications it will have. If he suddenly decides he wants to be involved I have little backup to stop him. I've been very careful in my selection and honestly so far don't believe he would be the type but you never know! I got a fair few messages for people just wanting sex or insisting that natural insemination is the best way "as told to them by their doctor" Hmm but eventually found one who had all the relevant paperwork from his donation to a sperm bank and only wishes to do it this was as his sister went through a clinic and he saw it was difficult for her. Confused so I have a lot of fingers crossed right now. Amberdanni1910 ~ I wish you the best of luck. My advice would be to keep pursuing it and keep looking. Eventually through the creeps you might just find a decent donor!
Legally.. yes, it's legal for a man to donate sperm, however it isn't legal for you to pay him for it (as far as I am aware) however when you get sperm from a clinic the donor has already signed away their legal rights to the child, this isn't the case with this sort of donation so I'm just trying to be careful and save all of the conversations. It may not be legally binding but worst comes to worst hopefully at least I'll have something to show them if I have to file for full custody. Lets hope it doesn't come to that though. Confused

Best of luck on your journey!!!
