Im just posting out of desperation following a lymph node ultrasound. Is there anyone that can read a report and hopefully put my mind at ease, please?

USS OF THE NECK DONE WITH PATIENT'S VERBAL CONSENT.
INDICATION: LUMPY LEFT NECK.
FINDINGS:
THE MARKED AREAS WITHIN THE LEFT LATERAL NECK SHOWS A LINEAR, NON-VASCULAR HYPOECHOIC STRUCTURE MEASURING 3.8MM ON SHORT AXIS DIAMETER. IT SHOWS WIDER THAN TALL APPEARANCE-LIKELY REACTIVE LYMPH NODE.
JUST ADJACENT TO IT, IN THE SAME LEFT LATERAL NECK, SHOWS A PROMINENT, BUT NORMAL SIZED LYMPH NODE MEASURING 3.8MM ON SHORT AXIS. NO ABNORMAL INTERNAL VASCULARITY NOTED WITHIN IT. THE CENTRAL FATTY HILUM IS PRESERVED.
BOTH LOBES OF THE PAROTID GLAND AND SUBMENTAL ASPECT OF THE NECK SHOW PROMINENT, BUT NORMAL SIZED LYMPH NODES MEASURING 4.9,3.4 AND 2.8MM ON SHORT AXIS DIAMETER RESPECTIVELY.
BOTH LOBES OF THE THYROID GLAND SHOW SMALL SIZED NON VASCULAR CYSTIC LESIONS
MEASURING 4. 1X2.6MM AND 1.7X1.7MM RIGHT AND LEFT RESPECTIVELY.
IMPRESSION:
MULTIPLE CERVICAL REACTIVE LYMPH NODES (NO SINISTER FEATURES NOTED).
THYROID CYSTS- U1.

Reactive lymph nodes means they’re big in response to infection not malignancy. Very reassuring!

I don’t know enough to comment on the cystic lesions in the thyroid though.

i think im panicking because he said one doesn’t have the fatty helium and one does - he clearly saw the panic across my face as he said it and then said it might have fatty helium but it just hasn’t shown on the scan. From what I’ve read, no fatty helium is a bad sign.

Its just not mentioned in the first one. However there are no sinister findings. I honestly wouldnt be worrying x
