Also this is nothing new. Lots of countries try to recruit from Europe, UK

Loads of people would not want to emigrate to the other side of the world so it would have to be pretty dire conditions here to lure people so far away from friends and family.

It’s a global market, that’s how it is.

Poach - take or acquire in an unfair or clandestine way
