I work as a Sterile Services Technician, band 2. Our department have been waved a carrot for many years that we will be re-banded to band 3. This has not transpired.
It is becoming apparent that technicians at other Trusts in the UK are band 3. The majority of our technicians carry out all roles including decontamination, clean room, autoclaving, endoscope processing and being on call. Our supervisors are band 3.
What is the banding at your Trust and roughly which area of the UK are they?
I would like to get an understanding of which Trusts have banded their technicians band 3.
