How much who with n is it worth it? Can you get GP appointments more easily? Spent 35 minutes on phone today 'you are number 19 in the queue' ... soul destroying.

Following!
I only got as far as looking at quotes online and had to give up as spam was overwhelming.

I’ve got private medical insurance - I can get a same or next day virtual appointment and also face-to-face. I’m with Axa.

I have vitality health insurance, and have done for over ten years. It’s been well worth it for me as I’ve had a couple of ops for an ongoing condition. Both times the consultant saw me, said you need an X op, and then got out his diary and asked which day the next week if like it done! On the NHS it would’ve been months to even get to see a consultant, and probably over a year of waiting to get to the operation.
It includes private video call gp appointments - invaluable when I’ve been away from home but needed antibiotics for a water infection. They e sent the prescription to my nearest pharmacy for me to pick up later the same day.

Vitality has lots of lifestyle perks too - discounted BA flights, Apple Watch for £39, 50% off trainers & bkes, free cinema tickets and Starbucks coffees each week etc.

My premiums are around £55pcm, but I I honestly wouldn’t be without it, and I am not a high earner - I’m a schoolteacher! I make sure I earn(use as many of the ‘freebies’ and member offers as possible to make it feel more cost effective.

@moreginneeded do the premiums cover prescriptions? I currently pay an annual fee for repeat px on the nhs?

Private health insurance doesn't generally cover primary care.
