Delay fertility treatment due to frontline work

After lots of ups and downs, we finally managed to go through fertility treatment last year but embroyo transfer got delayed as all the IVF clinics stopped work. Now just we got ready to move forward second wave is coming back. Unfortunately, as a junior doctor we move around a lot and I am not sure who I should speak to about this. Its such a personal decision and I dont feel like we can keep waiting forever especially as age really matters in these cases. Am sick with worry about catching covid just we get ready to do the embryo transfer and this is complicated by anxiety from previous miscarriages. Anyone else experienced having to delay semi elective stuff due to work?

No personal experience, but just some thoughts.... If you have a supportive Ed supervisor I’d maybe chat to them. If they’re not someone you’d be comfortable talking to them then if you’re a in a training post rather than Trust type post your deanery must have some sort of confidential support service that can help. One would hope that if you go ahead the deanery might take circumstances in to account when they were allocating jobs whenever you’re due to change.

Finally if you’re on doctors.net and preferred to get anonymous advice for starters it’s the sort of thing you might be able to get advice about in some of the fora... I’ve found it really helpful for a few things in the past. Hope that helps Smile
